About
I am an Anglican cleric in the diocese of Montreal in the most beautiful and wonderful parish in Canada.
Who am I? Titles, these days, seem to be the topic of debate. I am an evangelical, someone once called me a “people-friendly” evangelical- I think trying to insult me- But I love it. By evangelical I mean, I believe that the Bible is God’s authoritative Word that He inspires, breathes life into, for the purpose of shaping individuals and His church and giving them His Life.
It is GOOD NEWS, even when it seems like bad news.
Part of that Good News is that God has not left us to our own devices- he has not only opened a way to a friendship with Him through Jesus, but He has given us the framework for the most beneficial way of living that friendship out, that way is the Bible, plainly written, plainly interpretted.
I am a member of what I am calling, The New Margin. Those parishes and clergy who have been marginalized by their dioceses hypocritical new intolerance of different points of view
To be continued…
People-Friendly- I believe that people are meant to hear the Good News as Good News- not as a battering ram. Jesus made the gospel so attractive that people wanted to listen and wanted to follow. Even hard things like giving money to the poor and leaving behind relatives, sounded more like opportunities than obligations, more like adventures than disciplines.
